My name is Lee Koontz.  I’m a thirty-something follower of Jesus, lover of all things Tolkien, and Carolina basketball enthusiast.  I tend to describe myself as an incurable theologian, meaning that the part of my brain that is predisposed to think theologically simply cannot be turned off.  I’m fascinated by connections – connections between the world in which we live, a world that simultatneously appears beautiful and hideous, and the divine power that created it, sustains it, and even redeems it.  I’m captivated by the intersection between God and culture, and I believe that an important part of being a pastor (or just a follower of Jesus) is helping others see these intersections, these moments in which the holy and the ordinary meet before our eyes.  It does happen.

Maybe you’ve seen these moments yourself.  If so, I’d like to hear from you.  My purpose in starting reflectious.com is not simply to have an outlet for my own thoughts.  Instead, I thought it would be fun to start a blog where real discussion can take place.  I’d like reflectious.com to be a place where a group of people could blog about their experiences, reflections, and actions.  I hope that the reflections that we share would be contagious, and our words would be translated into action.

reflectious is meant to be a hub for meditative thoughts on god and culture.  the purpose is not simply for one to cast verbiage out into the void from whence it shall never return, but to build and engage a community of thinkers and believers.  through this engagement, we involved hope for a transformation of sorts, a shift in the way we think about our relationship with god and humanity.
