I'm glad you found it helpful. I've certainly had crazy weeks when I'm thankful for whatever help I can get. God bless you in the coming week.

I appreciated your reflections, since I spent yesterday at the hospital and putting out fires, and last night - all night - at Relay for Life" a cancer walk. So I'm operating on my 28th hour at this point. Any help I get is much appreciated!

I'm sure Peter has been beating himself up over his denial of Jesus. Yet, grace abounds! Peter takes off running toward Jesus. His spirit has been summoned to come to Jesus. Perhaps his action of jumping out of the boat and running toward Jesus is Peter's act of repentence. How many of us would just row in the opposite direction?

Can't it be both? I'm not sure how penitent Peter really is, though you could read that into his repeated statements of love for Jesus. I don't see Peter as approaching Jesus with penitence as much as I see Jesus approaching Peter with grace.

Jesus is definitely commissioning Peter. It's remarkable how often in the gospels the risen Christ appears to his disciples and then gives them something to do. Grace and ministry go hand-in-hand.

How do you (or others) see it?
